Serve Your Spouse

Diana and I are soon to be married for 24 years in September, one thing that I have learned over the years is that the one thing that I consistently fail at and yet sometimes knock it out of the park is serving my wives needs. Diana is a very busy wife and mother always doing something. She helps me run our marriage and family ministry, a Full time student working on her masters degree. Also she help run our family business, lets not forget that she is a Full Time mom too.

One thing that I constantly fail at is serving her needs, all she ever asks is for some help around the house and there are times that I am successful and times that there is utter failure on my part. But what I have learned over the years is that I have to make sure that I am very intentional on this issue. Not intentional because I need the recognition of what it is being done, but to make sure that I am serving my wife because she deserves it.

My advice that I can give you is that we need to wake up everyday and ask our spouse this simple question ” What is it I can do for you today?” This question will fill your spouses heart and you get to learn on a daily basis what your spouses needs are. Be diligent and learn from this simple lesson and it alone will start improving your marriage.

Serve your spouse and don’t keep a record of all you are doing, it should be done with a attitude of love and giving not to be done as a weapon in a later argument to justify yourself and how much you do for them.

Blessings,

Pastor Rick
